DJ Yamaのキャリアは、'90年代初頭、都内クラブ、ウェアーハウスなどでのワンオフパーティーからスタートする。東京で独自のサウンドを探していた彼は、'93年にオープンしたクラブ「ManiacLove」のプロデュースに参加、毎週土曜にはDJ Wada(Co-Fusion)らと共にデトロイトスタイルをベースにしたパーティ「Sublime」をスタート。これはテクノミュージックをメインにレギュラー化した日本で初めてのパーティであり、またアフターアワーズというスタイルもレギュラーで定着させた。
その後パーティーは「CYCLE」と改名して継続され、2005年12月にManiacloveがクロースするまでの間、実に12年以上に渡って毎週土曜に行われ、東京テクノの代名詞的存在として国内外で認知された。（ManiacLoveは2000年にイギリスの音楽誌「MUZIK」で、世界のトップクラブベスト10の中に選ばれている。）
そして同時期にKen Ishiiとの出会いにより「Sublime Records/Reel Musiq」を設立、レーベル・オーナー/A&Rとしても活躍するかたわら、Ken Ishiiと不定期で開催しているパーティー「Reel Up」をはじめ、「Fuji Rock Festival」、「Rainbow 2000」といった国内大型フェスティバルへの出演、海外では'98年にスペインのエレクトロニック・ミュージックの大型フェスティバル「Sonar」への出演をはじめ、レーベルツアーとしてイギリスやドイツなどもツアー、2001年にはシンガポールにあるアジア最大級クラブ「Zouk」でのプレイをきっかけに、以後マレーシア、タイ、韓国、中国など、アジア各国へ続々と進出している。
2002年にはMANIAC LOVEのコンピレーションCD "JOURNEY INTO THE SOUND"に自身でプロデュースした初の楽曲「CYCLED UP」を提供、03年には「V.A/スペースインベーダー大作戦」（東芝EMI)、「V.A /SHEENA & THE ROKKETS～ELECTOROKKETS」（VICTOR/SPEEDSTAR）にも参加。
2006年はじめにはKen Ishii、DJ AKi らと共にブラジルツアーを敢行。INTER FMでのパーソナリティ（毎週日23：00～）など活動の幅を広げ、多忙な日々を送る。

DJ Yama (Manabu Yamazaki) started his career in DJing through organizing his own events 'Sublime'in 1994, with the world reknown DJ Wada(Co-Fusion) still happens (now 10 years+1!) at club "Maniac Love" it called 'Cycle'now.

A club "Maniac Love" recognized world-wide as the best Techno Club in Japan, 'Cycle' on Saturdys invited top artist such as Jeff Mills, Surgeon, Thomas Schumacher etc.. In fact, "Cycle" was the first party in Tokyo which truly focused on techno music and still holds many people for their After hours till in the morning.
In 1999, 'Sublime' was the only party in Asia to be listed as one of the best in the world on Muzik magazine.

Yama started his own techno label 'Sublime Records' in 1994 by meeting people as Ken Ishii and Susumu Yokota came for guests and to release their records from Sublime.(Then, Ken and Susumu already had their debut in Europe.) Sublime was touring in German, Sonar Festival 97 in Spain as their first label tour.

DJ Yama has played in big festivals and ivents not only in Japan but most of Aisa's big cities.
In Japan,such as Fuji Rock Festival and Rainbow 2000.
Still now, he often goes to club "ZOUK" in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bankok in Thailand, Malaysia,Korea, China and more.

His remix and produce works are also releases frequently on under the label of Sublime, "Reel Musiq" (is strictly 12" label for dancefloor techno)and,his other name works on Toshiba EMI and more.
He is collaborating with Ken Ishii to drop 12" is coming soon.
