1969年8月8日、京都に生まれる。幼少の頃、家にあったSonyのカセットレコーダーで録音をして遊ぶ。小学生の頃、実家の経営する食堂にアルバイトに来ていた学生、また個性的な同級生らの影響で、ユーロ・プログレッシブ・ロック、特にクラウス・シュルツやタンジェリン・ドリーム、ティム・ブレイク等のエレクトリックサウンドに傾倒、またFMラジオ等でNYエレクトロやダブに影響を受ける。中学生になる時、現在も使用中のシンセKORG"mono/poly"を購入。高校に入り、機材を集めて友人とユニットを作り、作品を作り始める。
1988年頃から地元関西を中心にLiveを積極的に行う。当時のスタイルは、エレクトロ・シーケンスとギターやボーカル、ドラムなどの編成によるもの。
1993年にその頃のLive活動を通して知り合った山本アキヲと共にTANZMUZIK（タンツムジーク）を結成、Live活動をスタート。その作品は友人のDJ、田中フミヤが始めたとれまレコードから12インチシングルとしてリリースされる。その後イギリスのレーベル、ライジング・ハイと契約、1994～96年にかけて2枚の12インチシングルと1枚のアルバムを発表、その後ソロ活動としての作品製作やLive活動を始める。Okihide名義ではSublime Recordsから「Akio/Okihide "Scraches"」、コンピレーション「Sublime The Adolescence」、Syzygyから「A Boy In Picca Season」を発表する一方、地元京都の友人夫婦とのユニット、「Bambi Synapse」の活動も行い2枚のアルバム「Weather Forecast」「Life」を彼等の運営するレーベル「Green Records」から発表している。また、1998年にTanzmuzikの2ndアルバム「Version Citie Hi-Lights」をSublime Recordsよりワールド・ワイド・リリース。
1999年、過去のソロLive作品を自身でリミックスするというコンセプトのシリーズ「CX AUDIO IE」をスタート、サブライムより3枚のシングル「01」「02」「03」をリリース。テクノ、ハウスからジャズまで、幅広いリスナー層から高い評価を受けた。
2000年、アルバム「Alpha 000-011」をサブライムより発表。
2001年、同じく京都在住のアーティスト、レイ・ハラカミのアルバム「レッドカーブの思い出」で「again」のリミックスを担当。

When he was a little boy, he played with Sony cassette recorder and recorded various noises. From influences from older students who worked at the restaurant run by his parents, and his precocity classmates, Okihede got into Euro progressive rock, such as Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream and Tim Blake. At the same time he got influence from electronic sound like NY electro and dub played on radio.
In early teenage, Okihide bought his first synthe, Korg "mono/poly" which still plays the active part in his music. When he get 15, he formed a band with his friends and make music. From around '88, Okihide played live p.a. with his band mates actively in his local area. His musical style at that time was his electro sequence, guitar player, vocalist and drummer.
In '93, Okihide formed Tanzmuzik with Akio whom he met through live acts. Their first 12" release came out on Trema Records which was run by their friend Fumiya Tanaka. After their release on Trema, Tanzmuzik signed to Rising High and released 2 eps and 1 album from '94 to '96.
After concentration on their each solo projects and live act, releasing "Akio/Okihide - Scraches" (Sublime records, released only in Japan), "A Boy In Picca Season" (Syzygy), contribution of "Kuwaheri" to Sublime The adolescence" compilation, band project "Bambi Synapse" with a couple run "Green" label in Kyoto releasing "Weather Forecast" "Life" Green, Tanzmuzik released 2nd album "Version Citie Hi-Lights" on Sublime Records in '98.
In '98, Okihide started "CX Audio IE" series with the idea based on remixing his own old solo live works. "01", "02", then "03". And an album, "ALPHA 000-011" was released in 2000.
